78rpm to mp3 - ISTD Creative Brief 2009
The brief was to typographically illustrate two songs from different decades. I chose the folk song Do Re Mi by Woody Guthrie written during the Dust Bowl years of 1930s California and the rap song I Never Knew by Aceyalone from the 2000s. Between these years, vinyl records were introduced. The record sleeves became an innovative platform for design - hence my decision to use this format for my submission. This entry earned me membership to the ISTD.
